STEVE GRIMMETT: No Plans For GRIM REAPER Reunion
December 30, 2003Former GRIM REAPER/current LIONSHEART vocalist Steve Grimmett has contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET to refute the rumors of a possible GRIM REAPER reunion at the upcoming Sun n' Steel I festival on March 6-7, 2004 at Pinellas Park Expo Center in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Says Steve, "[I] have heard several rumors and saw your entry in Dec. 29 news about GRIM REAPER appearing in a festival in Florida. I'd like to state now that this is untrue. [Ex-GRIM REAPER guitarist] Nick [Bowcott] and I have talked about this on many occasions, and both feel we do not want to cheapen the past by doing a sad reunion. Re: Wacken Fest 2001, We fully intended to play as LIONSHEART. Unfortunately the promoters posted us as GRIM REAPER against our wishes. It was never meant to be a reunion gig, at my expressed instructions. Enough about the past. My current band LIONSHEART are now in negotiations with Metaledge Records for a release of our new album early 2004. For updates, etc. check out www.lionsheart.com. Happy New Year to you all - hope you have a great 2004!"
As previously reported, LIONSHEART's fourth studio album, "Abyss", was recorded at the Warehouse Studio in Oxford, U.K. throughout May/June 2003 and was engineered by Steve Watkins.
